Inspiring learning for a fairer future

Supporting schools to develop education for global citizenship and Learning for Sustainability, across the curriculum. From Fairtrade to climate change, human rights to school partnerships, Highland One World  provides information, activities and resources covering a wide range of themes.

Fairtrade seeks to challenge injustices in trading structures and practices that lead to the exploitation and marginalisation of poor communities, helping producers to achieve better trading conditions and promoting sustainability.

Globally we are not ‘living within our means’. At present we are living like we have one and a half planets, with a disproportionate amount of resources being used by industrialised countries. This is happening at a huge environmental and social cost.

Highland One World offers support for partnership work through the provision of advice, a range of professional development workshops and relevant teaching resources.

Highland One World has an extensive library of global citizenship/Learning for Sustainability resources which is updated regularly.

Education for global citizenship uses a multitude of active and participatory learning and teaching methodologies such as debate, role play, ranking and enquiry.
